If there're poles, lightning will hide behind them.

Seeking shelter outside Lost Sea Opals.

Lightning Ridge, NSW, Australia.

NB: This is in 4:3, not my usual 6:4, because it's impossible to frame it in 6:4. Damn you lengthy poles and lightning.

Your lightning shots make me jealous, this is very nice!!

This is a fantastic shot, you positioned yourself well, and how lucky you are for the lightning to have landed perfectly next to them! Good organisation of space, I love the lens flare produced by the light as well. Overall a marvelous shot!

Thank you so much! It's rare for the lightning to have been in the open, I swear it usually goes out of its way to ensure it's behind something, and those poles were just tempting fate for lightning behind them. :D

I have a different version of this, cropped to a portrait image of the left-hand side, with the perspective corrected. I should upload. :)

Wow that looks amazing! It looks so close!

If I remember correctly, it was fairly close. Not too close, though. :)

Ooh, looks a little close for comfort. :D All these shots of lightning are awesome, though.
